Apple Pay and Google Pay

Hold it near.
That is the whole payment.

The card lives in the wallet app you already have. Topped up in USDT, opened with an email, spent by tapping.

Get your card

You hold the phone to the reader.
The shop never sees a card number.

Which of the cards you can add

Two of the three work in the wallet app. The cheapest card is for the internet only, and that is the one thing it does not do.

Apple Pay Card $59.99 Made for this. Everything the virtual card does online, plus the wallet app and any contactless reader. See the card
Physical Card $459.99 The metal card goes into the wallet app too, so you can leave it at home and still pay by phone. See the card
Virtual Card $49.99 A card number for the internet. It pays on any site, but it does not go into the wallet app and it does not tap. See the card

How to add it to the phone

Four steps inside the wallet app you already have. Nothing to install and nobody to call.

01

Open the wallet app

Wallet on an iPhone, Google Wallet on an Android. Both are already on the phone, so there is nothing to install.

02

Type the card in

The number, the date and the code are in your account. Copy them across, or point the camera at the metal card if you have one.

03

Confirm with the code

The wallet app asks the bank to confirm it is really you. We send the code to the email on your account, and you type it in.

04

Hold it to the reader

Double press the side button, look at the phone and hold it near the terminal. The same card keeps working online as before.

Questions about paying by phone.

Which cards can I add to the phone?

The Apple Pay card and the physical card. The $49.99 virtual card is for the internet only and does not go into the wallet app, which is the single difference between it and the $59.99 one.

Where does the confirmation code come from?

From us, to the email address on your account. The wallet app asks the issuer to confirm that the person adding the card is the person who owns it, and that code is the confirmation.

Does Google Pay work the same way?

Yes. The steps are the same in Google Wallet on an Android phone, and the same card can sit in both. Once it is in, you pay by holding the phone to the reader exactly as you would with any bank card.

Does the shop see my card number?

No. The phone passes a separate number to the terminal instead of the one on your card, so the card number stays behind the phone and never reaches the till.

Do I need the card in my hand to add it?

No. The number, the expiry date and the code are all in your account, so a card that exists only on a screen is added exactly like a plastic one. If you have the metal card you can also point the camera at it.

Can I still pay online after adding it?

Yes. Adding it to the phone changes nothing about the card itself. It keeps paying on any site, for subscriptions and ad accounts, and the balance is the same balance.
